ERICK DAMPIER JR

Erick Dampier Jr., Class of 2028, is already making a name for himself as one of the most exciting young big men in high school basketball. Standing nearly 6’10” with a strong frame and natural instincts in the paint, Dampier Jr. is following in the footsteps of his father, former NBA center Erick Dampier, while carving out his own identity as a dominant presence on both ends of the floor. Currently playing at Madison-Ridgeland Academy in Mississippi, he is proving himself as a player with elite upside who can control the game inside.

Offensively, Dampier Jr. has shown he can score efficiently around the basket, finishing strong through contact and using his length to create mismatches against smaller defenders. His touch around the rim is advanced for his age, and he is steadily expanding his skill set to include mid-range shots and face-up opportunities. With soft hands and good footwork, he operates well in the post and has the potential to become a reliable inside-out scoring threat. His mobility also allows him to run the floor and contribute in transition, which makes him even more valuable to his team’s offense.

Defensively, Dampier Jr. anchors the paint with his shot-blocking ability and rebounding presence. He averaged double-digit rebounds and multiple blocks per game during his freshman season, showing a commitment to controlling the glass and protecting the rim. He also earned the opportunity to represent USA Basketball at the U16 level, where he helped secure gold while gaining valuable international experience.
